I believe the Word of God is true and faithful... and anyone who believes that should live within God's authority. To compromise our values for "entertainment" is conforming to this world which the bible strictly says not to do. We should stand firm against such movies, books and such that can have an influence.

Present your bodies as living sacrifices for this is pleasing and acceptable... our bodies include our minds, what we do, where we go, what we wear... it includes everything about our lives.

We are also told to run from evil (not to use it for entertainment)... to abstain from being friends with the world. We are to be the lights, not to blend in. Be hot or cold.

The bible says to stay away from all forms of witchcraft, lustful sins, anger, wrath and such... all forms... I think it's a shame that this movie would even warrant more then "tell all your friends to not see this". "has animal and even human ritual sacrifices- but is a fun summer tale" Wrong!!!

I am sorry the other commentors don't see fit to understand that the witches are ultimately evil in this movie and protrayed as such. The good characers do not use magic other than a traveling candle. "Stardust" is a fun, if not a bit whacky, movie about romance and adventure and fantasy. When witches are portrayed for what they are, I cannot hold it against the film.

i am so sadden that Crosswalk would even review this movie -when did the Bible change it's view on witchcraft? did i miss something. with all the garbage about harry potter etc out there i simply don't understand how a Christian can watch or be involved with these types of movies. the harry potter "thing" is to me satan's greatest accomplishments! when i see Christians in church discussing etc these movies it breaks my heart! how blinded by satan are even Christians! we do not give satan enough credit - he is alot smarter then anyone ever really thought! my husband and myself have gotten rid of TV bcecause of the trash that you become "educated" with whether you want to or not. if it is something that Jesus would not watch, read or listen to why would His followers want to! i pray we all wake up to what satan is doing not only to the youth but to the adults as well in the name of innocent entertainment. we do become, maybe slowly, but we do become what we listen to and watch and read.

I am really concerned about the comment by Christian in his
review, "Does conscience dictate what sort of stories Christians can watch, or are certain stories declared off-limits from the start, leaving conscience out of the equation altogether?"

Isn't this the same mistake that Adam made, when he let his conscience be his guide instead of the command of God?

De 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

Yes...I think that certain stories are off limits, just as certain acts are, like adultery, etc.

Why are we even reviewing movies about witches trying to eat the heart of someone on Crosswalk?! We are supposed to live in this world, but not be of it. God may have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah for what He did to there, if we, as Christians, wish to see something that is 100 % contrary to what the Lord wishes for us to watch and put in our spirits, and condone it -- even labeling it as "fun".
