Orrico's Christmas Wish: Short, but Sweet

ALBUM: Christmas Wish
ARTIST: Stacie Orrico
IN A PHRASE: Teen pop sound meets classic Christmas favorites.

After her highly successful debut, Genuine, Stacie Orrico returns with her first Christmas recording, Christmas Wish.

Orrico starts out strong with the urban pop remix of Love Came Down. What follows is perhaps the album's worst track, O Holy Night. Stacie's voice just doesn't carry it.

The new Christmas tune and title track, Christmas Wish, is the album's best. Silky background vocals and a nice beat enhance and complement Stacie's powerful vocals on this track.

An unusual dance beat kicks off the groove-filled What Child Is This? while Stacie's arrangement of O Come All Ye Faithful is catchy but not quite as moving as the original.

The Michael W. Smith-produced White Christmas closes the six-song EP with a snowball effect. The highly orchestrated track is truly a success.

My final word ...

I felt it was too short. The CD barely put me in the Christmas music spirit before it was over. If you like listening to a CD a few times through to get your fill, then this Wish is for you.

Until Next Time ...
