Remembering Ruth Bell Graham (1920-2007)...Continued from page 2

 Remembering Mrs. Graham...

“It is bittersweet to get the news about Ruth Bell Graham’s passing. However, as Christians we rejoice knowing that she has gone home to her Heavenly Father and that this day is the one that she lived her entire life for. I have admired her all my life, and particularly as a pastor’s wife, there was a great deal to glean from how she supported her husband’s ministry. She lived a life of servanthood, and in doing so was a leader and a role model to so many others. Rick and I extend our deepest sympathies to the entire Graham family as they mourn the passing of their wife and mother.”

Kay Warren
Saddleback Community Church

"All of us at Focus on the Family offer our condolences and prayers to the Rev. Graham on the passing of his beloved Ruth," he said. "Her legacy is that of a devoted wife, mother and woman of God whose love of the Lord helped change the lives of generations of men and women all across the globe. We join Dr. Graham and their five children in mourning her loss and celebrating her incredible life."

Dr. James Dobson

I was deeply saddened today to hear of the passing of one of the great women of the Christian faith in our time, Ruth Bell Graham. It was my privilege to spend time in her home with her and the family she so loved. Ruth was the best example I have ever seen of a deeply spiritual, yet very down to earth, person. She was always quick to laugh, and had a twinkle in her eye I will not forget. I remember one lunch she made for us in her home. She did the cleaning in her sink beneath a plaque she had hung there that read, "Divine service done here daily..." Cathe and I are praying for Billy and the entire Graham family in this time of tremendous loss, yet rejoicing that they, and all who have put their faith in Christ, will see Ruth again. I look forward to that day.

Pastor Greg Laurie
Harvest Christian Fellowship

Today, Ruth Bell Graham met her Savior face to face, and she rejoices in heaven with Jesus. We will miss her, but we will see her again. Our prayers and deepest sympathy are with my friend Dr. Graham, their children and the entire Graham family during their time of grief. But I know they do not grieve as people who have no hope. I am confident that she is now in the presence of the One she loved and served with her whole heart-our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ....

Laura and I are deeply saddened by the death of Ruth Bell Graham, a remarkable woman of faith whose life was defined by her belief in a personal, loving, and gracious God. She was an encouraging friend, accomplished poet, and devoted mother of five and grandmother of 19. Ruth's marriage to her husband Billy was a true and loving partnership. As the wife of the world's most beloved evangelist, she inspired people around the world with her humor, intelligence, elegance, and kindness. Laura and I offer our prayers and condolences to Billy and the Graham family.
