Afflictions Come for Our Encouragement
- Wednesday, October 16, 2013
Most of us bemoan our afflictions. We rail against our struggles, grouse around and wonder why bad things happen to us. Scripture tells us “If we are afflicted, it is for your encouragement and salvation; if we are encouraged, it is for your encouragement which enables you to endure the same sufferings that we suffer” (II Corinthians 1:6). What a different perspective! We may be afflicted so that we not only be encouraged, but so that we can encourage others. Consider how such an attitude will help you face the troubles that come your way.
