It is relatively easy to begin a good work, but we need the strength of the Spirit to continue on doing good. In many ways, it is the work of the Spirit in us to finish strong, and Scripture assures us that “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion” (Philippians 1:6). When you are discouraged in slipping back, turn toward God who has promised to continue His good work in you.
