Like Apples of Gold

Solomon tells us that “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver” (Proverbs 25:11). Now that is quite a statement. ‘Apples of gold in a setting of silver.’ This is the significant impression he wants to make on us about the power of a word. We’ve all had the experience of someone saying just the right word at just the right time. Sometimes we don’t know the power a fitly spoken word will have on another—but know that there is power in a chosen word.
