Mutual Respect

Everyone deserves our respect. You might be tempted to treat people harshly, depending on your mood and how you perceive them. But, we are called to be people of respect. We can dislike another’s actions, and even set boundaries on how we choose to interact with them. But we must be respectful. Jesus teaches us to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39). This often-quoted declaration is repeated throughout Scripture. How are you doing with loving others as yourself?
