Very Active Listening

There is listening—and there is active listening.  When we listen actively we listen for what is said, consider it, but also listen for what is not being said. We listen to the “heart” of the person, not just the facts. What are the emotions hidden beneath someone’s message to us? What is their passion and desire? If we create a safe place for a person to share, they will share more and more. This process not only creates a friendship, but is healing.
