Has Abstinence Education Failed?

I think that if we treat our children with hidding whats out there, we're inviting probles. My daughter & son know that I would like for them to honor God by staying a virgin until marriage. They also know I did not and after meeting my husband wished I'd been a virgin. There are kids all around them , in a christian school, that are having oral sex. If we teach openly while telling them what we, and God, expect, we have a better chance at making it. I've even told my oldest about some close friends who have herpies because the husband was with a women and he didn't know he'd got the STD. This has told my daughter that even if you've been good someone else can pass along something without knowing. Education is key. We can do this with the truth and God together.
