I wish I'd have read this article about 21 years ago, and kept reading it periodically. We have a 21-yr. old son that still does not seem to be able to make good choices, and then blames others for the consequences.

However, in our defense, we did let him experience consequences continually - served numerous detentions, made him confess to the principal that he'd forged an excuse from me, walked to school during -10 degree weather when he overslept, took away cell phone, made him pay all fines & tickets he received, etc. etc. etc.

I guess my question is - "What if he never does learn to act responsibly?" That is my biggest fear, but have given that fear to God. I can do no more.
