While I agree that we as parents should give children an allowance, I don't believe in the allowance for chores equation. The way our family looks at chores is, we, as a family all have chores to do, regardless of monetary compensation. Otherwise, children could forego allowance and not have to do the chores. That being said, as a member of our family, God blesses us with finances, so we give to our children, without them having to earn it. Then we training them to save, tithe, and budget the remaining amounts.
