My daughter is 31-years-old, and has moved back, suffering from self-diagnosed post-traumatic stress disorder after living in New Orleans post-Katrina. She is receiving $200.00 per week in unemployment, of which $150.00+ goes for purchasing beer and cigarettes (both of which can't be consumed in the house). As far as chores, she swore gardening would be good for her nerves, but has never pulled a weed yet! She sometimes cooks, but I have to rewash every dish because they are filthy and the pans crusted with burnt food. I would love to do her laundry in the machine, because she wears the exact same outfit every day(all black) and only hand-washing her own clothes, she smells horribly of BO. I did post a honey-do list once for her, and she snapped that if I had something to say to her, say it to her face. However, when I say it to her face, she snaps, "don't tell me how to live!". A contract? I wish I could just see her awake before noon. She refuses to go to counseling or see an MD.
