The Catholic church has been doing this for 2000 years. It is called the Sacrament of Confession.

It is about time more churches start doing this maybe the divorce rate would go down in the church. That is areal act of love by stopping the sin that is going on the the church that is now being ignored. I hope someone is there to bring me back if I start sinning in such way that would infect my relationship with my family, friends, and God . Or we can stay like we are living in spirtual indifference and rebellion. Boy that sounds like history repeating itself.(book of Judges)

At what point does the sin become grevious enough to warrant excommunication? By what authority is the determination made? Is there anyone without sin, be the first to throw the stone.
