Once again, an almost-rational point is destroyed by a baby-with-bathwater argument that neither makes any sense nor makes the author's point:

"When you replace the biblical names for God with those of your own choosing, you create a new religion. The evidence for this flows directly from the rejection of the Bible as the authoritative revelation of God's names. If the Bible cannot be trusted to name God correctly, then why accept its verdict on homosexuality? If the biblical names for God can be updated and renovated, then why not do the same with the doctrine of atonement?"

I think that it's funny that we are prohibited from creating new names for and ways of recognizing God. Are we not beings created to create? Weren't we made with a desire to comprehend and come into relationship with our Creator? The REAL issue that the author just misses here is whether we are so arrogant in our supplemental recognitions of God that we ignore the descriptions he gives of himself altogether.

The Spirit of the Lord has truly left are churches. In His, place man (or woman if that will make the feminists happy) has replace Him with secular humanism. Even the churches that have not become this radical, they are slowly exalting themselves more than they exalt God.
