...Jesus Christ Himself than comes to the scene to mount his vicarious offensive against Satan also paving a way for mankind to come back to God through His blood. Here we have a means of comeing to God throgh the shed blood of Jesus Christ.Calvery is the answer to all our delemas. I clearly understand this with my mind. I know that I am born again
Yet I dont know what its like to be out of the woods, and please dont take what I have written as a means of dissent
I write this that I may obtain freedom.

Drugs and alcohol played an important part in all of this, yet even times of sobriety I still gave myself to these desires. It has been 4 1/2 years since I had a gay expeience. I must declare that though it has been a difficult transition, yet my desire to serve the Lord outways at least the phisical act of practicing gay sex. Its not easy my friends! There is a lot of smut out there, and it is very easy to get sucked into the mire if you will. Satan's power in this arena is almost overpowering It is brutally convincing to just give in, and for those of us who know the truth makes the act more damnable. Oh how we punish ourselves. The human heart was never meant to harness such feelings. In the beginning God gave everything to the human race. We were complete, and it was all GOOD
Human beings were once good than the fall. The carnal desire won over the simlistic servitude to a Holy God.
Centuries later Moses pens down things like you shall not lie down with beasts and promicing death

Poof all of a sudden your not a homosexual anymore, and dont think about other wemon... well good for you while the rest of us struggle endlessly hating ourselves for the thoughts that we still have. I have been a Christian for about 14 years, and through the Lord,s help I have been able to be free from engaginging homosexual behavior, however one thing that troubles me to this day is that I still have an attraction to other men, and that no matter how hard I pray
These desire are perpetual. I made a choice to change my sexual behavior in light of the scriptures shortly after I got saved. I made the desision to turn from my bi-sexual life style to one that is pleasing to God. I loved the Lord and I wanted to honer Him. For a long time I could not fathom not being without a man for the rest of my life, so time and time again I would give in to my lust and concede to the dictates of my flesh, every time coming out of it feeling ashamed and filthy(like a sub-human monster)...

I agree with jloves. I think(?) it was John McArthur on a radio broadcast the other day that said Jesus loved what was righteous and hated that which was sinful. We as His Church must strive to live the same way, yet the politically correct post-modernistic churches love to preach "I love to sin and Jesus loves to forgive". This message can help anyone guilty of any sin get over the guilt and continue on in their sinful ways. One of the early steps in a relationship with Christ is REPENTANCE. The Bible is so clear and transparent on what is sin and our consciences by the Holy Spirit can confirm that if we get on our knees and pray for guidance. That applies to any sin, not just homosexuality. Pray for our churches and our country people, we need it. God Bless.

As with more discussion on this issue, it fails to critical test. One, the author refuses to consider the possibility that they could be wrong; and two, the author applies principles to homosexual relationships that are never applied to heterosexuals. The author say all relationships that exist out side of God are "not really love at all." Millions of heterosexual Christians are happily married to unsaved people? Does their love exist outside of God's plan? Does what you do in the bedroom automatically put you in God's plan as long as it's between a male and a female? What about the millions of Americans and others around the world who are in marriages where neither professes Christ? Where is the condemnation of their love? Second - Christians have used the bible to justify an encyclopedia full of abhorrent behavior that we know universally except to be wrong. Are you telling me there is no possibility that they could be wrong about this? The arrogance is laughable.

I found this article very informative and well balanced, i'm often confronted with issues surrounding homosexuality, knowing in my heart what God's best way is for us but finding it hard to put that into words when talking to people who are gays or lesbians.
One thing I would want clarifycation on is when a married(male and female) couple discover one has been practising homosexuality- is this adultery as the bible defines it? and how can they overcome their diferences?

I just wanted to comment on Rev. Foltz's statement. Why is it there are so many Ministers out there that don't want to deal with sin. They like to use the phrase "Let's use Jesus's example and just show love". Well I agree that Jesus showed love and still does, but he was never AFRAID of confronting SIN. When the woman was found in adultery and was about to be stoned, he didn't send her away and say, "it's ok, I love you" no, he said go and sin no more. And by dealing with the sin was actually showing her more love by not letting her go out the same way she came. When the money changers turned the house of the Lord into a den of theives, he overturned the tables and drove them out. Jesus was NOT afraid of stand up against sin and calling it for what it was. He never condoned Sin. And I recognize that a lot of ministers are not preaching the Word of God and possibly convicting sermons because they don't want to upset people or they are afraid and that right there is sin.

Being a former lesbian myself, I have run into Christians who kept me at arms length and just recited the words "hate the sin, love the sinner", but showed no love or help at all. I have also run into Christians who wanted to ask all kinds of questions about why, when, where and how, but didn't really want to help me get or stay saved. it has only been in the last year that ( I have been out of the lifestyle since 2004) I have found people who want to learn how to help homosexuals get free.
The article was very informative and showed some of what present and former lesbians and homosexuals go through. I think that if more Christians reached out to that community, more in that community would feel God's love and want to come out of that pit of despair.
