Thank you so much for this article. It describes perfectly what you feel and experience as Pastors in the ministry. Before you think that we don't understand what it is like to have a job and serve the church, consider this. Like many in the ministry these days my husband and I are bi-vocational ministers. This means that we work a 45-50 hour a week job to sustain our ministry to a small church. We understand the limits on time and yet we are expected to give 150% to the church in service. I love our church family and would do(and have done) anything I can for them, But sometimes that is not enough. All you need is one person that you don't quite fit the bill for and you can be put through the most unthinkable things. I am still recovering emotionally from the last attack.

I sympathize with Pastor's pain like what is described in the article. It boggles my mind how some act more like politicians instead of in brotherly kindness to their Pastors.
Pastors and those the saved in the congregation - all are saved by His blood and all are worthy of respect.

That being said, I find it is rarely mentioned about the Pastors who suddenly leave for personal reasons. ( of course it is said to be God's calling.)
The Elders and deacons have it no easier at times. They have 'regular' jobs with the stresses and influences that go with them. They are not treated in a special way like the Pastor. It is kind of who are you? Or misjudged because of the so-called position. The Pastors think the elders, deacons have a ton of time for all sorts of projects but forget they have their jobs on top of their duties 'at church'. 30% of pastors are too busy and want everyone else to be. Any wonder character, spiritual depth is lacking in churches ??

Thank you Pastor for your teaching on this subject. This is a very much needed subject to attend to, even for some it may not feel secure to address it this way.

Thank you again, and God bless you!
