I dont believe God really does care what we call Him. The name we choose to address God by reflects the relationship we have at the moment with Him, or the attribute of God we appreciate. However I do not believe it is right to address God by foreign names that may possibly have their roots in pagan deities in order to make other men happy. Do we fear God or men? Is our motive to worship God or to please men?

To address the post by HAMMAD who said: "Remember, the God of the bible said, "by my name Jehovah......". therefore i totally disagree with this man of 'God' ..."

The name "Jehovah" is of medieval origin, so I do not understand the context or reason for even bringing this partial and possibly out of context quote. I also recommend studying trinitarian theology. It is a common mistake to view Jesus and God as separate entities rather than as 2 persons of the 1 True God.

I believe the name we call god by is a personal choice to worship god not to please men.

First I agree that we should not call on Allah as God.

If it does matter about the Name of God then why don’t we use His Name instead of a generic name such as Lord? If it does matter then let us use YHVH (Yahweh) instead of LORD.

And if using the right Names do matter, then let us use Yeshua instead of Jesus.

Are would that be just too much...?

I agree with most of what is said in this article. However, we must remember that we have Arab brothers and sisters that have been calling God by the name of Allah, before Mohammed was a sparkle in his momma's eye. As loosley stated in the article, Allah is the Arabic name for god, and as a global body of Christ, we shouldn't make unilateral claims like this. If I were an Arab Christian, I may take offense to this.

English isn't the primary language of God. :)

There are many people who believe that Allah is derived from the moon god that pre-Muslim pagan Arabs worshipped. This may or may not be true, but I would rather not pray to a deity that possibly has it roots in a pagan moon god.

Allah of the quran and the God of the Bible are two different entities for a start. This man of 'God' should verify this. Allah rejects attributing sonship to him while the God of the bible declared "this is my beloved son...". It is clear that Allah had no son because he was not begotten and he begat no one. The man of 'God' should very these declarations before it is too late. Without offence, he should also convince himself of which 'God' did he believe in. Which of the two he is serving. Because if Allah is the God of the Bible, then Allah must be a liar and inconsistent by making some people believe that he had no son while making others believe otherwise. Remember, the God of the bible said, "by my name Jehovah......". therefore i totally disagree with this man of 'God' because Allah and the father of Jesus are two different entities. shalom!!
