Thank you for writing about an area of christian life that is often not talked about or addressed properly and confidently. I have experienced church and living with God my whole life but I sometimes find it very hard to simply accept the disciplinary ways of the church leadership. I do beleive that God is certainly a God of discipline, teaching and is constantly refining us as we allow him to. I beleive that God has appointed leaders in our churches for good reasons. What I find difficult is to see sometimes if the discipline they are giving is in love or not, we're human. It can be very intimidating to say that you might disagree with any dicision of leadership. I don't beleive that discipline in love would need to attack self-esteem. What are your thoughts on inappropriate disciplanary action taken by the church? How would someone who has come to the leadership in trust about an issue and seen that the actions taken went against biblical teaching and involved destructive language do?
