Rick Warren on the Origin of the Purpose-Driven Church

Articles like this is what is destroying the Christian Church. Rick is using his strategy and structure. He thinks of the people as consumers and the churches as marketers. He looks to meet the needs of the family. We are to win the world to Christ.

He has shifted the focus from the Gospel Message to the way he packages it. He takes our focus away form God' original plan (God's Blueprint)

In Acts 25, the belivers did not follow signs and wonders rather, signs and wonders followed them. People today want to be dazzled, look for miracles and want their emotions stired. True worship is not something you schedule to draw a crowd, it is a sincere Praise and Communion with our Lord and Savior. People walk away with a good feeling knowing WHO Jesus really is.

Ricks article is I, I, I when it should Be Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Jesus is the foundation of the Chruch, He is the way, the truth and the Life!!

Rick Warren & his "Purpose Driven" mess have done so much harm to churches in America. Our church was pastored (should say destroyed)by a man who used the PDC principles. Our church is still paying for it. Our church was taken over by a pastor who did away with our church constitution and any meetings where anyone had any say except for him.The money was taken over by him and many "tricks" were pulled to make it seem that our church was growing.

Chairs were taken out so that it looked like we needed to go to 2 sermons each Sunday. The pastor HAD to have MORE cell phones, copy machines, telephone lines, computers, a free car etc.

All our sermons consisted of was the same little "sayings" over and over.We had lots new people coming in and just as many going out. Nothing was taught. The whole emphasis was on "getting them baptized" (I now see where that came from in the article)

When we all finally woke up and got rid of him we had lost half of our membership. Beware Warren!
