I wish my dad had read this article and embraced it before he married my mom. No one could argue he was not a devoted pastor. But there was never anything left for us except his fatigue and frustration. It created problems in our family that persist 50 years later. It turned me off to the possibility of ministry and left me with a resentment that only the Spirit and only then in my 40's could lift.
