Today's Scripture
You who sit down in the High God's presence, spend the night in Shaddai's shadow, Say this: "GOD, you're my refuge. I trust in you and I'm safe!" That's right—he rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards. His huge outstretched arms protect you—under them you're perfectly safe; his arms fend off all harm. Psalm 91:1-4 MSG

Thoughts for Today
Pornography is becoming a significant source of revenue for many people. Some young women are now paying their way through college by allowing themselves to be a “Pay per View” offering on the Internet.

This depraved industry is built on lies that encourage customers to seek more and spend more. These lies impart the message that it is ok to participate … that no one is being hurt … that sex and intimacy are the same. The lies warp our thinking and harden our conscience, drawing us deeper and deeper into the trap.

Lies can only be counteracted with truth. Jesus Christ told us that he is the truth. His Word, the Bible is truth.

Consider this…
Do you feel trapped by the snares of pornography? Truth will lead you out. Find Bible verses that speak to you in your situation. Read them again and again. Write some of them down and post them in places you’ll see them frequently, especially places that offer temptation (e.g. your computer).

As you trust God for help and focus on his truth, he will rescue you from the traps of pornography. He will show you the path out and give you the strength to overcome temptation.

Prayer
Lord, forgive me for allowing myself to get in this trap. Help me to see pornography for what it is. Help me to focus on your Word. Show me the path to freedom and give me the strength to follow it. Thank you for your promise to be my refuge. Thank you for rescuing me from hidden traps and protecting me. In Jesus’ name.
