First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people.

--1 Timothy 2:1

You have an opportunity for powerful, life-changing ministry without ever leaving your home. It’s through the power of prayer.

Prayer is a powerful tool for change in the lives of others. The Spirit of God wants to touch and reach others through your prayers. So, whom should you pray for?

In 1 Timothy chapter 2, Paul tells us to pray for—

• Backsliders. Who do you know who is absent from the worship and service of God? Maybe they’ve been hurt. Or maybe they’ve been deceived by their own desires. They need your prayers.

• Public officials. Do you pray for our national and state leaders? The best thing you and I can do for our country is pray for our leaders.

• Those who don’t know Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:3-4 says that God “desires all people to be saved.” You and I must petition for the souls of the unsaved.

• Our spiritual leaders. Your pastor needs your prayers. Many preachers in America are discouraged and hurting. Please pray for pastors, missionaries, church staff members, and other spiritual leaders.

• The sick. Scripture says, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”
