There's a lot of music here in this two-disc collection—32 songs and over 140 minutes of music! Shout to the Lord: The Platinum Collection might better be titled the Hillsong Australia greatest hits collection. It's a fine mix of Russell Fragar's ultra-peppy adult contemporary pop, Reuben Morgan's funk-rock flavored gospel, and Darlene's now world-famous power ballads. Obviously the popular title track is included in this collection, as well as favorites like "The Potter's Hand," "All Things Are Possible," "Touching Heaven, Changing Earth," and a stirring cover of "The Power of Your Love." I find a lot of the upbeat songs a little too similar to each other, but there are a few that stand out, such as "My Redeemer Lives" and "This Is How We Overcome." Also, the overall energy of the recording is irresistible. The Platinum Collection is a great, efficient way to check out what Hillsong Australia's music ministry is all about!
