That's Why There's Grace

reviewed by Robert Ham
Style: Lilting folk/pop Top tracks: "You Never Let Go," "That's Why There's Grace," "How Deep The Father's Love For Us"

In a nutshell: For the first time in her lengthy career, Kendall Payne lends her warm, syrupy soprano to a batch of modern worship classics ("Heart of Worship", "Blessed Be Your Name") and the results are positively stunning. You've heard these songs dozens of times before, but the understated arrangements and Payne's intoxicating vocals help give nuance to their pure expressions of praise. Add to them a wonderful original, the breathy title track, and Grace quickly becomes a worship album for the ages.
