In a nutshell: The drama behind The Dash is practically Christian rap's version of Chinese Democracy: Its mastermind, Cross Movement CEO John "The Tonic" Wells took so long to put it out, the thing nearly never materialized. The time these tracks spent in limbo may explain why a lot of the beats appear stuck in 2005—about the same time 50 Cent's 15 minutes began to run out. Tracks like "Prayer's Ball" and "The Greatest" are more forward-thinking, but then again, the Tonic and his associates never relied solely on the beats; the reason to their rhyme—Christ—continues to take precedence.
