Identity

Reviewed by Andrea Dawn Goforth
Style: Christian Pop/Rock, a younger Steven Curtis Chapman mixed with the bubblegum pop of Miley Cirus and the Jonas Brothers. Top tracks: "Jesus" "Elementary" and "Be Praise"

In a nutshell: The sophomore release for 16-year-old Robert Pierre, Identity, showcases his voice and mature skill. But as talented as Pierre is, he still has much growing to do. The tunes on this album may sound shockingly familiar. Much is borrowed directly from popular music. "Elementary" is a near carbon copy of Weezer's "Say It Ain't So." "Be Praise" is an apple off the tree of "Clocks" by Coldplay. And those are actually the disc's best tracks. I'd recommend this album to teens due to its not-quite-mature lyrical level but this might actually be too fluffy for many of this generation's teens.
