Such a Time, Dishes and Adios EPs

Reviewed by Andrea Bailey Willits
Style: Electric, genre-bending hip-hop in the vein of Gnarls Barkley and Handsome Boy Modeling School Top tracks: "Dishes," "Just Don't Get It"

In a nutshell: With L.A. Symphony and several successful discs to his name, Flynn Adam's sonic genius isn't in dispute. And on his third solo go-round, he caters to an on-demand generation with an urbane, adrenaline-spiked sampler delivered in three individually released digital EPs, Such a Time, Dishes and Adios. Mere bites of frenetic creativity, each somehow satisfies with metallic guitar chords, sizzling bass lines, and video-gamey bleeps surrounding smooth relationship rhymes: Adam runs from a bad one in "Adios," ponders the downfall of another in "Just Don't Get It," and manifests his devotion through chores in the smooth-sailing "Dishes." The result is hip, unpredictable and a portrait of a changing industry.
