In a nutshell: On his sixth album, Mark Schultz has completely moved past the light pop that marked his earliest efforts for a soaring rock sound that positively fills the room with energy and emotion. It's a shame then that, after a while, too many of the songs start to sound like one another—a quiet start, a slow build, and a big, brash finish. What shines throughout are Schultz's heartfelt, perceptive lyrics that manage to find some beautiful new expressions of faith and joy.
