In a nutshell: Sometimes a band can possess playing chops, singing skills, and the budget for a proper producer, but still end up sticking stick with the standard Christian radio formula. Enter Sidewalk Prophets, the capable but unremarkable foursome who teamed with producer Ian Eskelin (Stellar Kart, Francesca Battistelli) to craft an overly shiny blend of predictable, youth group-friendly pop. Though some lyrics point to self-assurance regardless of personal attributes, most tunes follow common topics of basic Christian living with little insight to offer.
