Welcome to the Masquerade

Reviewed by Andrea Dawn Goforth
Style: A clean hard-rock Skillet-like sound mixed with the rap rock sound of P.O.D. Top tracks: "Welcome to the Masquerade," "Fire It Up," "The Part That Hurts the Most (Is Me)"

In A Nutshell: Toronto rockers Thousand Foot Krutch are on their sixth studio album, and experience looks good on them. Mixing the musical elements they toyed with on previous recordings, Masquerade displays their skills at crafting a punchy hard rock song like "Fire It Up," but also their ear for pop/rock ballads like the mid-tempo "Forward Motion." Where a project with this much diversity could feel disjointed, the keen producing of hit-maker Aaron Sprinkle becomes the common denominator that holds it all together. There is no masking it: This is one of TFK's best.
