Time with God - Feb. 15, 2011

Isaiah 50:4-6

The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of disciples, that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple. The Lord GOD has opened My ear; and I was not disobedient nor did I turn back. I gave My back to those who strike Me, and My cheeks to those who pluck out the beard; I did not cover My face from humiliation and spitting.

Let the Lord use you in other people's lives, no matter what it costs!

This is part of a very moving prophetic passage which points to the suffering experienced by our Lord Jesus Christ for us. But the point of this passage is not the suffering, but the availability of Jesus to God the Father for the ministry the Father wanted to accomplish through Him.

When Jesus recognized the Father's voice calling Him to His earthly ministry, He "was not disobedient nor did [He] turn back". He willingly put Himself in a situation that would cause Him great pain, because that was how God wanted to use Him.

Has God opened your ear? Do you sense God leading you to minister to people in a certain way? Don't be disobedient or turn back. No matter what it costs, be available to God. Then God will use you greatly in people's lives.
