How you can live with no regrets

September 25, 2012

So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom.

Psalm 90:12

I once heard a pastor say, “When I was a child, time crept. When I was a youth, time slept. But when I became a man, time ran.” To put it as I’ve heard in today’s terms, “Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end, the faster it seems to go!”

Isn’t that true? The more years that go by, the faster they seem to go. So it saddens me when I hear about people who get to the end of their lives and talk about their regrets. They wish they had taken more opportunities to do something big. But they played it safe, and now want the chance to go back and do it all over again.

This is the sad state for many people today. But the truth is that it’s never too late to start living. One author in a recent book wrote about the mass of baby boomers who are now retiring and how they have the freedom and finances to make an impact around the world for Christ like never before in history.

Don’t live a life of regret. Live the abundant life Jesus has promised and make it count for Him. Live to the maximum each and every day so that at the end, you’ll be able to say in the words of the great missionary, William Borden, “No Reserves. No Retreats. No Regrets.”

LIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE FULLEST FOR CHRIST, SO YOU’LL HAVE NO REGRETS!
