Time with God - Oct. 5, 2012

Luke 5:15-16

But the news about Him was spreading even farther, and large crowds were gathering to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.

When you are deciding how to balance your time, don’t forget that spending time with God is the most important thing you can do!

Do you see this value at work in Jesus’ life? News about Him was spreading; the crowds gathering to hear Him were growing. Ministry opportunities and needs were going through the roof. It would seem like the crucial time to work overtime to capitalize on the spiritual hunger and responsiveness of the people. But Jesus “would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.”

It must have driven the disciples crazy when Jesus would just disappear and they would have to come up with something to do with the crowds.

But nothing was going to keep Jesus from His first priority in life—His relationship with His Father.

When you learn from Jesus to put your relationship with God first in your life, you will be amazed at how well the rest of your schedule and responsibilities come together and fall into place. You’ll see His hand guiding your steps.

Put God first in your life, and give Him total control. You may be nervous before doing so, but you will never be sorry afterwards.
