Honor Your Father and Mother

Most of us have a complaint or two about our parents. None were perfect and many carry scars from their childhood. You may still have resentments about what happened to you as a child, and I’m certainly not attempting to trivialize those issues. Yet, Scripture tells us to honor parents: “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you” (Exodus 20:12). God tells us that He will bless us as we honor our parents. Consider how you might honor your parents, no matter the how you have been raised. This may seem like a huge challenge; yet it is one I believe God will bless.
