Planned Parenthood Apologizes for Executive's 'Tone' in Video

Carrie Dedrick

Planned Parenthood has apologized for the “tone” of an executive who was caught on camera appearing to explain how abortionists are able to conserve specific organs from aborted babies to sell to research companies.

In a video statement, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards said, “Our top priority is the passionate care that we provide. In our video, one of our staff members speaks in a way that does not reflect that compassion.”

“This is unacceptable, and I personally apologize for the staff member’s tone and statements,” she continued.

Richards said that Planned Parenthood does not sell organs, but donates tissue for research, with patient consent. She claimed the the company does not make money from tissue donation, according to The Hill

“I want to be really clear. The allegation that Planned Parenthood profits in any way from tissue donation is not true,” Richards said.

The video has prompted outrage from pro-life advocates. The House of Representatives announced Wednesday (July 15) that it would launch a full investigation of the matter.
