Possessed Inheritance

“So the people went in and possessed the land; You subdued before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gave them into their hands, with their kings and the people of the land,
that they might do with them as they wished.” - >Nehemiah 9:24

God’s people continued to recount their long history. Through Abraham, the Lord built His nation. He used Moses to lead and deliver His people from their bondage in Egypt. Through God’s goodness, the people had divine guidance and provision in the wilderness. He gave His people the Promised Land that they may enjoy their inheritance.

However, Moses misrepresented the Lord to the people as an angry God. It cost Moses––big time. He could not enter the Promised Land (Numbers 20:10-13). God would use His servant Joshua to lead them into the land (Numbers 27:15-19).  He established the work and fulfilled His promises to His people. God had chosen men who would accomplish His work. God worked with humble men, anointed them and used them. God began the work, blessed the work, supplied for the work and, in the end, the Lord got the glory.

All God wants us to learn is to be a man or a woman of faith. We need to be obedient and respond to what He has told us to do. How are we going to do it? We need to seek the mind of the Lord and go through the doors He opens––doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Any doors that are shut, we dare not open, unless God opens those doors to us. Seriously, we do not want to set out to do any work for God that is from our own will.  It has to be all of God and His perfect will.

Then just like God’s leaders in history, we have to trust God for His guidance, direction and provision.  Then we will learn firsthand where God guides, God provides.

Where God guides, God provides.
