Possibilities

And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, “You shall not come in here; but the blind and the lame will repel you,” thinking, “David cannot come in here.” - 2 Samuel 5:6

Once the nation of Israel was united, David took his men and decided to take the city of Jerusalem. It would be the capital of Israel. David would lead the nation from Jerusalem.

It is interesting to note, at this time, Jerusalem was not controlled by Israel. It was a city in the center of Israel, but it was controlled by the Jebusites. This was around 400 years after the Lord had led the children of Israel into the Promised Land. Jerusalem had never been taken, as the Lord commanded the people.

This is the reason the Jebusites were so confident. They thought they could never be taken, even if they only sent out the blind and lame to defend them. They thought they were coming against David and his men, but the hand of God was upon David. It was the Lord who was directing the armies of Israel.

David was coming into Jerusalem, the City of God; and he was not only establishing himself before the Lord, but acknowledging God’s anointing on his life. Nothing was impossible for him; he was led by the Lord.

That is what we have to remember in our own lives. When we face situations that seem impossible, we have to remember God’s anointing on us. If He is leading and guiding, anything is possible.

God can do without exception what He wills to do.
