Great in God

Then David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the City of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward. So David went on and became great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him. - 2 Samuel 5:9-10

Once the city of Jerusalem was taken from the Jebusites, David made it the capital of Israel. He lived there and called it the City of David, building it up to be an even greater city. All he did was blessed by the Lord and he became great. Notice and underline this; David became great because the Lord was with him. It was not because he was great. God’s work through him made him great.

When I read about how the Lord was with David, it just really speaks to my own heart, because God has been with me for so long. From the day

I got saved to the present time, He has worked in my life, and like David,

I have tripped up. I have not been perfect, but the work he has done through my life has been perfect. It has been His plan.

That is what is so incredible; His plan for my life and His plan for your life. No matter what the world throws at us, we can rest in the knowledge that God has a plan for each of our lives.

Think about it. If the Lord is with us, then who can be against us? He is leading me; He is guiding me; He is providing for me; He is doing everything for me, which is so cool. When you see everything David accomplished, you see the hand of God. His hand was upon every great thing David did. It is the same for us and the things He does with each one of our lives, fully and completely.

God watches and weeds us, and continues His labor upon us, till He brings us to the end of His promise.
