No Limits or Limitations

“Wherever I have moved about with all the children of Israel, have I ever spoken a word to anyone from the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people Israel, saying, ‘Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’”’ - 2 Samuel 7:7

From the time God led the children of Israel out of Egypt, His presence was with them. He led them through the wilderness as a pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day. The Shekinah Glory of the Lord would descend upon the tabernacle in the middle of the camp and the people would know God was among them.

These were all physical ways for the Lord to show His presence to His people. He was not just a pillar of fire or a cloud. These were physical ways for the people to see the presence of God, but He was with them always. He is omnipresent, which means He is everywhere. He is not limited to time or space.

David was giving God attributes and limitations as a person living in the flesh. God is a Spirit and is completely unlimited. He is not only omnipresent; He is omniscient and omnipotent, which means He knows everything and has unlimited power.

We should never attribute the physical limitations of man to God. When we put God in the same place as man in our hearts and minds, we are no longer able to recognize He is the God of impossibilities. Once we limit God, nothing is possible. All things are possible with God, because He is without limits and limitations.

There is in the awful and mysterious depths of the triune God neither limit nor end.
