When God Frustrates Your Plans

But Uriah slept at the door of the king’s house with all the servants of his lord, and did not go down to his house. So when they told David, saying, “Uriah did not go down to his house,” David said to Uriah, “Did you not come from a journey? Why did you not go down to your house?” -  2 Samuel 11:9-10

I am sure David went to sleep in peace and thought everything would be fine. It was the perfect plan: Uriah would sleep with his wife and think the baby was his. Until the next day when his secret plan had failed; David was informed that Uriah did not go home to his wife. I am sure he was very frustrated. David had committed a willful sin, what would he do next?

Where was the fear of the Lord in his life? There is no communion with God until there is true repentance. Instead of questioning his own motives, he questioned Uriah on his failure to go home!

When we willfully sin against God, He has ways of frustrating our plans. God will often orchestrate events to disrupt our lives in drawing us to repentance. Romans 2:4 states:knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance ...

Are you frustrated? Ask yourself this good question: Is there anything in my life that is not pleasing the Lord? Recognize God’s divine interventions, it could be that He is trying to get your full attention.

You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your countenance
~Psalm 90:8~
