Building a Relationship

Today's Scripture

"Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble." - (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NLT)

Thoughts for Today

Walking with another person usually means the two individuals have a good relationship. To literally walk with a person every day whether in the mall, around a track, or on a stroll in the neighborhood means the two enjoy each other's company. Walking together is good exercise for the body, but the emotional and spiritual results can be just as beneficial.

When two walk together it is much easier to exercise consistently. They are there to encourage and challenge each other not to give up.

Consider this …

Walking together is a time to share and strengthen a relationship. It is a time for friends to share the details and concerns of life. To learn more about each other.

Through a friend's insight, we may be able to see ourselves more clearly or be inspired to achieve greater heights in our career, personal life, and most importantly with God.

Understanding the importance of building a relationship with a friend can help us begin to understand the importance of building a closer relationship with God—and how to do it. This week we will consider the life of Enoch, a godly hero who walked with God. We can learn much from his life.

Prayer

Father, I thank you for the friends you have brought into my life. Help us to continue building our relationship, and help me be a good friend. I pray that I can learn from my friendships and from your Word how to build a closer relationship with you. In Jesus' name . . .
