Hidden Figures Shares Untold Story of Women in NASA

Ryan Duncan

If you were to make a list of the greatest triumphs in human history, sending a man into space would likely be found somewhere near the top. Strangely though, few people recognize the brilliant minds which helped make this herculean feat possible. Hidden Figures, the upcoming biographical drama from Fox Pictures, is looking to change all that. The film recounts the story of African-American mathematician Katherine Johnson (played here by Taraji P. Henson) and her two colleagues (Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monáe) who provided NASA with the important calculations needed to launch their first space missions. The film's first trailer promises an inspiring and witty story for any viewer whose ever felt like an underdog.
