Time with God - February 13, 2017

Romans 3:21-30

But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”(vv. 21-24)

A gift only benefits you if you receive it!

“All have sinned and fall short”…“being justified by his grace as a gift”…“for all who believe”

Have you ever received God’s wonderful gift of forgiveness for the ways you have broken his moral laws? You receive his gift, not by doing good deeds, or becoming very ‘religious’. Remember, the gift is paid for by the one who gives it. You receive his gift by “believing”.

You may have been trusting in your good works or your involvement at church to make you acceptable to God, but now instead, you’re going to trust in what Jesus did for you at the cross.

You’ve been trusting in your old way of life to bring you meaning in life, but now you’re going to trust God and turn over the leadership of your life to him.

Why don’t you write a little prayer and express your new (or renewed) faith to God?
