Where are the front page stories tying Attorney General Bill Lockyer to the removal of the "pension reform initiative", because of his personal, financial gains at the hands of the public employee unions?
Allow me to make my point here...
At the Democrat Statewide Convention held in Los Angeles, April 15-17, AG Lockyer was one of the keynotes speakers for the Democrats and their contingent of public employee union members.
Lockyer took the stage and praised his office for 'killing Arnold's pension reform initiative', here is the actual reference from a couple of newspaper reporters present at the convention presentation:
"Yesterday, Lockyer took credit for starting Schwarzenegger's slide by issuing an official title and summary for the ill-fated pension reform initiative that called attention to its elimination of death and disability benefits."
"'It was my office that I think significantly contributed to the activities, the activism of nurses, teachers and others because we were the ones that pointed out that death benefits were going to be denied widows and orphans of firefighters and law enforcement officers,' the Attorney General said. (San Diego Tribune, April 18, 2005)
Now, how much money is Lockyer getting from the public employee unions for his personal campaign war chest? Could it equal a million dollars? Is he doing the business of the unions, while serving the state as the top lawyer?
Is Lockyer killing, renaming and politically attacking initiatives as the state's top lawyer?
(OK, I'll play along with the media's "big lie" with the Gov), How is this any different than Schwarzenegger vetoing legislation on nutritional supplements, and being paid by the magazines with partial advertising money?
I'll ask again; is it appropriate to have the state's attorney general "killing" an initiative for partisan favors to his party, and the party bloodline of public employee union cash?
Maybe we should create legislation that makes it illegal for any 'statewide elected official' to receive 'tax dollar, union dues washed into campaign contributions'. (Paycheck Protection initiative is a good start!)
Isn't this a 'conflict of interest' for the AG of California? Here he is praising his office's trumping of the Gov's initiative...and stirring up his personal coffers with partisan fanfare and campaign cash.
Tell me again, why is the Schwarzenegger relationship with the "Muscle Magazines" so tainted, and yet Lockyer's public confession and gloating so ignored?
The sad facts, now this the "issues" surrounding Prop 77, or the 're-districting initiative', Lockyer's office could be praised for directly killing TWO ballot initiatives, and drastically renaming the "Live Within Your Means" initiative for the purpose of voter confusion.
Yeah, let's go after Arnold over supplements folks!
