God Shed His Grace on Thee

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

2 Chronicles 7:14

As we look at the trouble and turmoil in our country now, we realize that the United States is reaping the results of years of disobedience to God and His Word.  We have worked hard to remove God and His Word from our courtrooms, from our classrooms, and from society in general.

But our society’s troubles are all symptoms of a deeper problem.  Practically put, it is sin’s effect that we are seeing.  We have been so careful to arm ourselves against the enemy on the outside, yet we have forgotten the enemy on the inside.  We have missed one of the most important blessings of history.

Abraham Lincoln made this proclamation in 1863: “We have forgotten God.  We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us.  We have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these things were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own.”   Honest Abe was right.   We are rotting from within.

How will we solve this problem?  Politicians can’t do it for us.  While they can bring some help and some assistance, it won’t get to the root of the problem.  The only answer is a heaven-sent spiritual awakening.  The only answer is a revival.

There never will be a spiritual awakening in this nation until we believe in the one and only true God and His Son Jesus Christ.  Without this, there never will be moral change or a cure to our countless social ills.
