Many people spend the first 20 or 30 years of their life having fun, enjoying their success and worldly possessions. But as they approach mid-life, they start to seriously ponder life’s deeper issues, realizing what promised to fulfill their lives has let them down.
God doesn’t mind if we have fun and enjoy things in life, but He wants us to spend our lives making eternal investments in things that will matter when we leave this earth. We need to understand that having worldly success is no guarantee of eternal reward.
That’s why all the fun in the world leaves a void and does not satisfy our souls!
Sooner or later, the earthly and heavenly worlds will collide, and you’ll have to decide where you are going to invest your life. That’s why Jesus said we can’t give all of our energy to worldly pleasures and expect to gain heavenly rewards.
Our heart only has room for one master. It will either be Christ or the temporary things of this world.
I pray today that you are not trying to keep one foot in the world while the other is in heaven. Because that’s a balancing act no one can pull off! Stop straddling the fence…and come over to the side that Christ is calling you to even now!
MAKE AN eternal…NOT TEMPORARY…investment WITH your life.
