What an awesome article - it was very honest and there are many, including myself, who have the same feelings. Thank you for such a real view on the life of Chrisitan singles!

I can totally relate with the articles Hudson has written "A Longing Like Starvation" and "A Confession of Longing". Reading these articles has been like reading my own thoughts!

I've been quite blessed by reading this and also by knowing that, as someone already commented here, there are many boys and girls in "God's waiting room".

I'm 101% sure that God has that special person for me, I know He loves me, I love to serve Him, but still... I wait, most times patiently but there a few days that like Hudson says that longing and waiting feels like starvation. But is's ok, I trust my heavenly Father and I believe His plans for me are good (Jeremiah 29:11), and not only good but better than my plans :)

I am refreshed by your honesty. It's true, a lot of us want to hide behind a mask of contentment, when contentment is the furthest thing from us right now.
I loved the imagined conversation you had with God. It was as if you had that same conversation for the sake of us all. By your spiritual lifestyle and outlook coupled with your honesty, you have given many a "Saved and Single" folks a voice. Thank you.

I think this is so true i can identify 100% with this. All we have to remember is that God's time isn't ours for real so all of you guys and girls just stay strong.

As I read your article, I was reminded of myself. Many times as I sit among fellow Christians they tend to freely give out expressions of pity for my and an older sister's singleness. I'm thankful that I am able to openly admit that sometimes I do get lonely, but chose to not dwell on the pain of loneliness but the hope of fulfillment in God's time.

My prayers are with you that you will be fullfilled and will be reminded that as God is working on you to prepare you to be the husband that he desires you to be, he is also working on the wife that he has ordained for you that she can be the wife that God desires her to be. When you are called to a higher calling as God has called you to, it is of the utmost that the uniting as one is in God's control and not our own.

Thank you for your honesty. Keep the faith.

It is a blessing to have someone express such a vulnerable subject so honestly. So many times we consume ourselves in the vicious circle of pride; too proud to admit loneliness to the people that surround us & we allow that pride to get in the way of our conversations with God. How dare we be so oblivious to the fact that He already knows? He knows how we feel, but we will smile & say "I want what you want for me Lord". The fact of the matter is we are human. We WANT what WE want. But what we NEED, what we need is exactly what God wants. Our struggles, our trials, our pains can never be lifted if we aren't willing to set that prideful nature aside and come to God with an open, honest heart.
& to the author: while it may not alleviate your struggle, I wanted to take the time to let you know that your candor with your struggle has facilitated my ability to go to God with the same problem, & the sometimes cliche saying that it all "happens for a reason" yet again resonates true.
