As a writer I have journaled (or written in my diary) for quite a long time. (Way too long!) Off and on I have turned my attentions to God within my journaling. One such time led to the conversion of my heart. I was already a Christian but struggling with what I believed and how I was living. Writing it all out allowed God to reveal Himself to me in ways I might have otherwise missed.

Thx, Whitney, for this timely article. We are so busy now, it seems, we don't take the time to see penning our thoughts and prayers and praise to God as having any significant measure.

If this life is any indication, oh, but it does!

Last Fall, I began outlining the books of the Bible in my journal using my KJV Nelson Study Bible. This has copious doctrinal footnotes and commentaries and is such a help with difficult passages. I started with the Epistles, then the Gospels and now the Old Testament. I am in the book of Ezekiel and will be finished soon. I have not included the Poetry Books in this endeavor.

This journal is one of the most important things that I own! I can't tell you how much I have learned and discovered about the Bible. It has been an exciting venture as each day I found myself anxious to get back into it again and seek out God's word. I bought a journal specifically for this and included index tabs for ease of use.

I can pick up this journal and instantly read the important messages from each of the books of the Bible. I also included a section on prayer and others on the Holy Spirit, Jesus, God and angels, gathering the information from the excellent commentary presented in my Bible.
