I commend you for speaking the truth on this matter. We as Christians are to "flee" evil.... " not even a hint"....
I would like to ask the question, "If you know there is porn in this publication, why do you still subscribe and support it"?
I believe God does want His best for us and His best has nothing to do with such things.

While I don't subscribe to SI and hence do not receive the swim suit issue, I have in the past, without justification, perused an issue at least once. But one does not need SI to be tempted by provocatively dressed women. There are plenty on TV shows and commercials, magazines and even in our churches. So one does certainly have to be on guard.

One of the things the Holy Spirit has prompted me to do when I see a petty girl is to see them as a soul for whom Christ died rather than a sexual object to feed my lust. And, so as not to sound like a prude or self righteous, I do not always call on God for help to avoid lusting, to my shame.

One other thing that has helped when confronted with temptation to lust, is to thank God for giving me a wife who meets those needs. It is my understanding that sexual gratification is a man's number one need so it is a challenge to avoid lusting. If you can't leave candy alone, stay out of the candy shop. As has been said, run!

I am proud of you!

My husband does not follow sports at all (except NASCAR and occasionally hockey) and he feels that the SI swimsuit issue is a total waste. I complained at a store recently when I saw the issue posted by the front counter, eye-level to my 2 children (ages 5 and 3).

I'm sure that once upon a time the swimsuit had something to do with swimsuits, but nowadays, not so much.

God Bless you!

I agree. As a wife of 20 yrs who's gone though a divorce, I can honestly say that the root of our problems was his sexual appetite, which was fed by pre-marriage encounters with prostitutes (something that I didn't realize until we had been married for some time), that has led to his current lifestyle of multiple partners and S&M activities.

I know that this is something that is not easy to deal with and especially today when images are thrust upons at every turn. But, men especially, need to put on the full armor of God every day. We need to equip our young folks accordingly too, as the day approaches for the return of Christ, things will only get worse.

Thanks for listening.

Thank you David.
Honestly on this issue is needed.
Holiness is hard enough without it coming
to your door.
Baby steps indeed.
Thanks for the challenge.
