The "Oprahfication" of Eastern Mysticism

I don't view into Oprah these days as over the years I have noticed that to non believers Oprah may give the impression that she has a Christian ethos and this can be confusing to an audience who do not fully understand the basis of Christianity. I believe she has become more attuned with 'New Age'and some of her segments are totally contradicting of Christianity. To impressionable viewers this can be confusing and detrimental.Perhaps we need to pray that Oprah will find the true meaning of Christianity on her journey through life so that her influence will be a positive one.She is but just another Child of God,probably searching for true meaning to her life and is human like the rest of us, but unfortunately her misguided views can affect so many people.

It is amazing to me that so many people who profess to be Christian don't know their Bible very well!

It's a great article, and it's about time that this message is spread around the globe. You can't deny that Oprah has a huge influence, especially among women.

These days I think that Oprah has grown more and more towards the new age thing, especially when she started to review about "The Secret". The book practically the same as the Tolle's book, all about the great inner power within us. I guess we should more and more warn people about the danger of Oprah's dogmatization...
